What are the
big differences in lab temperament and sizes?

What is the security deposit & is it refundable?

Longleaf Labradors requires a $250 non-refundable deposit to reserve a puppy for adoption. Security deposits are applied toward the adoption fee for your puppy.

Will I be able to visit/see the puppies before bringing home?

Longleaf offers photos, live videos and facetime opportunities for all families wishing to adopt and get to know the puppies. We allow families with deposits to visit once puppies reach 6 weeks of age.

Do you offer shipping or delivery of your puppies?

Longleaf does offer shipping or delivery of its puppies for an additional fee. The fee is based on going rates for shipping and travel expenses at the time of delivery.

Can you tell me more about silver labs?

AKC recognizes 3 primary colors (Black, Chocolate or Yellow) but there are variations included in those categories. Silvers are labs with two recessive D genes. To learn more, visit our About the Breed page and click on color genetics.

What are breeding rights, full and partial registration?

AKC registration can be full registration, which includes the ability to have breeding rights and register future puppies or partial registration, which does not permit breeding or AKC registration of future puppies. Longleaf offers full registration for $1000 in addition to the adoption fee.

What is the adoption fee for your puppies?
 

Adoption fees range from $1000-$2000 for our puppies. The fee is based on parental pedigree, health and genetics.

What types of labs do you have?

We breed both American and English labs. Many litters are a mix of the two to maintain breed diversity and health.

Do you offer rehoming help of your puppies or dogs, if ever needed?

Longleaf does offer rehoming of its puppies to its families.

What's the average cost
of a labrador puppy?

National price ranges vary from $500-$5000 based on parental pedigree, awards, health, genetics, puppy genetic testing, health certification, shots, deworming, location,  microchipping, color, AKC registration, puppy kits, rehoming options and trainings. Longleaf Labradors adoption fees range from $1000-$2000.

How many litters do you offer per year?

We offer litters twice a year, spring and fall.

How do we pick out a puppy & what is pick of the litter?

At 6 weeks, we allow those with deposits to "pick" their puppies. Puppies are selected based on order of deposit, unless a 1st or 2nd pick fee is paid, which ranges from $100-$200.
